Australian artist David Bromley (b. 1960, Sheffield), self-taught and culturally rooted in Adelaide and Byron Bay, emerged in the mid-1980s. Over nearly four decades, he has become one of Australia’s most collectible contemporary artists, acclaimed for his bold fusion of pop art and figurative expression and a six-time finalist in the Archibald Prize.

However diverse in his subject matter, Bromley's work is enduringly figurative, daringly coloured and executed with a graphic intention reminiscent of Warhol's Pop Art from the 1960s. He credits Warhol as an early influence demonstrated in his reductive colours, graphic style and the simplified forms of his nudes.
