Buying Options

HartFinds offers multiple ways to purchase artwork:

1. Buy It Now
  • Instantly purchase artwork at a fixed price.
  • Price is set by the seller, with HartFinds recommending a 20–40% discount off the retail value for competitive pricing.
2. Make an Offer
  • Negotiate by submitting an offer you are will to pay.
  • The system will automatically accept your offer if it's above the sellers minimum price.
3. Timed Auctions
  • Place bids during a set auction period.
  • The highest bidder at the auction close wins the artwork.
  • No reserve price applies—sellers determine the starting bid.
Buyer's Premium & Fees

A 10% buyer’s premium (including GST) applies to all purchases on HartFinds. This fee is calculated on the final purchase price and helps maintain our platform’s quality, security, and operations.

  • Example: If the final price of an artwork is $5,000, the buyer’s premium is $500, making the total cost $5,500. This will be added at the time of purchase
  • A credit card fee will be charged at the time of purchase. There are no fee for a bank transfer. This option can be selected at the time of purchase.
Secure Payments

HartFinds holds the buyer’s funds until the artwork has been received and approved.

  • Once you confirm safe delivery, the cost less commission and fees will be paid to the seller.
Shipping & Handling

Sellers can choose from the following shipping options and will pay a premium if they choose for HartFinds-Managed Shipping:

1. Seller-Managed Shipping (Self-Managed)
  • The seller will coordinate packaging and delivery directly with you.
  • You will receive the seller’s contact details to arrange shipping and insurance.
  • Shipping details and courier options will be provided to the seller and buyer after purchase.
  • Shipping & Packaging costs are payable by the buyer if not collecting in person.
2. HartFinds-Managed Shipping 
  • If the seller elects and pays for HartFinds to coordinate the shipping, HartFinds will be in contact with you, the buyer, to see which option of shipping you would prefer.
  • Shipping details and courier options will be provided to the buyer after purchase.
  • Shipping & Packaging costs are payable by the buyer.

Returns & Dispute Resolution

All sales on HartFinds are final, except in cases where the artwork is found to be significantly different from its description. If a dispute arises:

  • The buyer must notify HartFinds within 48 hours of receiving the artwork.
  • HartFinds will facilitate communication between the buyer and seller to resolve the issue.
  • If needed, an independent third-party assessment may be arranged.
