Costs and Commission for Sellers

Listing Price

Listing your artwork on HartFinds costs $19 (including GST), covering professional photo editing, seller communication, and uploading images and details to the website.

Seller’s Commission

A 10% commission (including GST) is deducted from the selling price at the time of sale.

Unlike traditional art galleries and auctions, which charge 20–50%, HartFinds offers a more affordable option backed by 35+ years of experience, integrity, and exceptional service.

CAL Retail Royalty

Under the Resale Royalty Scheme (effective June 9, 2010), sellers must pay 5% of the resale price for artworks acquired after this date. HartFinds will handle this payment to the Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) at no additional cost. Learn more.

Optional Extras
Valuation & Authenticity

Buyers often seek authenticity and fair pricing. Sellers can opt for authentication and valuation, which will be included in the listing details. Prices:

  • Hart family artworks: $125 each (normally $250)

  • Other artists: $250 for the first, $125 for additional pieces (normally $450)

Shipping & Handling

  • Self-Managed: Sellers coordinate shipping with the buyer at no cost. Buyers cover shipping fees unless collecting in person. Packaging and shipping guidelines here.

  • HartFinds-Managed: For a completely hassle-free experience, HartFinds can manage all packaging, shipping, and delivery on your behalf. A handling fee applies: 2.5% of the sale price for artworks sold over $5,000, or 5% for artworks sold under $5,000.
