Tessa Perceval Original

Tree- Oil Painting

Tessa Perceval (b. 1947), daughter of notable Australian painter John Perceval and Mary Boyd, emerged from a rich artistic household filled with creativity and experimentation. Born in Melbourne and educated briefly in London and Florence, she launched her professional painting career after returning to Australia in the late 1960s.

Over a career spanning four decades, Tessa is celebrated for her lyrical landscapes and botanical scenes, oil on canvas or linen, rendered with sensitive brushwork and evocative light. Her works capture locales from England, France, Spain, Wales, and Australia, often painted en plein air. Notable examples include Early Winter in the Great Woods, Herts (1970), Olive Trees Above Port de la Selva (1972), and View through the Gums, Nowra (c. 1986).

Tessa has held solo exhibitions, including her first in London in 1971 and her artworks have appeared in both public and private collections across multiple countries.
